The Coconut Butts are family. And yeah, we're talking about one of those families you would definetly call a bunch of weirdos.
The Coconut Butts are fun (to watch live). Starting as local punk and metal weirdo- kids, escaping from a small tiny village near Aachen TCB somehow managed to survive and envolve, without having a clue what to do with theirselves or taking care about silly things like business plans or musical guidelines.

Representing nothing but themself- they developed a strange mixture of something you can call Positively Positive Party Hard Entertainmend Skapunk Reggaeflavoured Happy Dance Music....at least you can say: it's not just another Skaband....but hey no one would even complain with that!

They must have did something right in the past, if you noticed that they played more than 200 concerts in several Tours in five different countries (Germany, Netherland, Belgium, France, Russia, Italy) and shared stage and festival toilets with such bands as SUICIDE SILENCE (USA), VOODOO GLOW SKULLS (USA), ARCHITECTS (UK), JAYA THE CAT (USA/NL), JENNIFER ROSTOCK (D), SONDASCHULE (D), LUXUSLÄRM (D), THE HAVE NOTS (USA), NO TURNING BACK (NL), MR. The Chinkees

The Chinkees were an American ska punk band fronted by Mike Park (formerly of Skankin' Pickle). The group debuted with 1998's The Chinkees Are Coming!, and followed with 1999's Peace Through Music and 2002's Searching for a Brighter Future before a greatest hits album was released in 2003. According to the liner notes for the band's debut album The Chinkees Are Coming!, the music was recorded by members of the band Tuesday with vocals provided by Mike Park. Subsequent albums were recorded all or in part by members Park, Miya Osaki, Greg Alesandro, Jason Thinh, and Steve Choi, as well as "guest" musicians, including Slapstick and Tuesday drummer Rob Kellenberger and Link 80's Steve Borth, often with members trading and playing different instruments than listed. All of the members were involved with the ska/punk scene. Jason Thinh was from the band Short Round, Miya was a member of the Santa Cruz punk trio The Muggs, Greg Alesandro a member of San Jose band Statue Man, and Steve Choi later becoming a keyboardist and guitarist for Rx Bandits in 1999.

After the "Chinkees Are Coming" album was released in 1998, the newly recruited members of The Chinkees headed for some warm up dates in Mexico supporting Riverside punks Voodoo Glow Skulls and San Diego's Buck-O-Nine before going on their first tour of Japan in 1999, supporting Japanese ska punk legends Kemuri. After a short stint on the west coast with fellow Asian Man Records recording artists MU330 and the then up and coming Alkaline Trio, the band again headed to Japan in the spring of 2000 with label mates MU330, and Tokyo ska punks Potshot. Europe was next as the band took part in a summer 2000 tour dubbed "Monsters of Ska" with Link 80 and MU330. 2001 saw another Japanese tour, again in support of Potshot, as well as Detroit's Suicide Machines, followed the next year by a UK tour with Potshot, and the UK band Lightyear, which proved to be the last major undertaking of the band as it has remained on hiatus ever since.

Recently, there have been a few reunions by the Chinkees in 2010 and 2011, as well as playing at the Punks in Vegas concert in May 2013.

The Chancers

The Chancers were formed in the summer of 1998, when a group of like-minded musicians combined for a one off concert. Since then the band line up has changed dramatically as they have taken their ideas and music around the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Croatia, Austria and Hungary, playing anywhere with a floor and an audience keen to embrace their interpretation of the ska sound.
Highlights of the past years include playing on the first Prague concert of British Two Tone legends The Selecter (later supported them in Vienna as well), supporting Bad Manners In Germany, sharing the bill with visiting modern ska bands like The Big, Mark Foggo, Skarface, Rude & Visser aka Mr. Review, Dr. Ring-Ding, Skunk, The Hotknives and many more.

On the recording front the band followed up their Tuffer Than Tomorrow EP with a full album, Rudeboy Polka , released on their own label. The album has garnered favourable reviews from a number of publications including Rolling Stone, Show!, Big Beng and Rock and Pop magazines, not to mention a clutch of ska fanzines across Europe and North America. On their next release, the four track Teach the Rich ep The Chancers have broken new ground by working with top Czech remixers Nana Zorin and DJ Wich (voted as DJ of the year 2001 in Czech Grammy Awards). Four years of constant touring around Europe has culminated in the recording of their second CD at Sono studios. They did it old school, analogue, and live. The album Friendly Fire was released in 2003 and had even better reviews than Rudeboy Polka. (For example it was voted as album of the week on biggest czech music portal musicserver.cz). Songs from this album appeared on various compilations including Skannibal Party 4 released on German label Mad Butcher.

In 2004 band played live gig in Czech television's music show Ladi Neladi and continue their "Friendly Fire" tour.

In 2005 The Chancers started to work on their third album. First single Away From The Flock was released same year in limited numbered edition just before their first UK tour in summer.

In 2006 band recorded their older song Rudeboy Paradise for famous Pork Pie compilation Ska ska skandal vol. 5. Rudeboy Paradise became Football paradise. New lyrics are dedication to all antiracist football fans. Especially those from Bohemka an St. Pauli.

New CD from The Chancers, eastern Europe's top rockin ska band, fronted by the enigmatic Simon Ruffskank and featuring an nine-piece line up of horns, keyboards and rhythm section was released by the end of march 2007. It's called "A Calling Out"...

The CD received very good reviews - was named as best czech ska record so far by Filter magazine and nominated for Czech Grammy Awards (Andel). Later that year The Chancers joined well known international compilation United Colours of ska (Pork Pie) with song I Can See For Smile and released Skanking Pragga sampler, which was distributed for free on the gigs. The Chancers as well received nomination for Akropolis Live Awards as best ska live act.
